If Obama wins what do you think will happen next? Meaning what areas of concern are you hoping he will fix and in what time frame?

Interesting question. Unfortunately, based on the history of politicians in this country, i don't have any expectations that either Obama or McCain will do much to fix anything other than something that may benefit one or the other's party in the short term.

Who ever is elected to President will be inheriting an American economy that is in the worst shape since the depression.

The US's debt has grown like crazy since 1980 to a whopping $10 Trillion dollars today (this does not include what our debt obligation is as a result of the Medicade legislation that was passed serveral years ago. Factor that in and we're at $60 Trillion or more).

Clinton inherited a 4 Trillion dollar debt from George Bush, W inherited a 6 Trillion dollar debt from Clinton, and W and all of congress has helped drive it to the current $10 Trillion.

What we are headed for is a global economic disaster. If that issue is not addressed, very little else that will be done will be meaningful.

So given the fact that i haven't heard a peep about how bad things "really" are from either candidate, i simply think they're both shuckin and jivin i.e., no CHANGE!

I feel the same as you but do think that if McCain is elected it will be
"business as usual" and a continuance of this pointless war while Bin Laden is planning his next attack. I'd take my chances with Obama.

Thanks for the comment.

I understand your desire to take a chance with Obama, but my belief is that Obama and McCain will actually do the same thing in regard to Iraq. That horse has left the barn and already decided to come back home. The effort is already starting to shift from Iraq to Iran.

I hope that i am wrong, but i really think Obama is really just the other side of business as usual. It'll be nice to have a brother in office, but i'm afraid that's gonna be about the only change we see.

My gravest concern is that once his election is recognized as business as usual rather than understanding that our politicians have generally created and operate in a culture of corruption, greed, and avorice, we will blame all that is wrong on the other party, or racism, or something else that has nothing to do with the truth. The system isn't the problem, it is the behavior of the people in it.
