Kirk is one of the Original members and leader of Blackstone Band of Washington DC and Philadelphia, he banded together a group of young musicians at that time and They turned into one of the biggest local groups in DC and Philadelphia area. Those years we spent touring on the show mobile (Mr. Gray)Dept of Recreation. Kirk spent his first years studying Jazz guitar with Bill Harris and Classical guitar at Sophocles pappa in Georgetown wash. DC.. Kirk has toured with or on the bill with New birth, kool and the gang, The Isley Brothers, The Manhattans, The Chi Lites, Stylistics, Funkadelics, Bar Kays, Betty Davis,Chuck Brown & the Soul searchers, Blackheat and the Young Senators. Becoming a studio musician I learned a lot about engineering and producing music by being in the recording studio. Kirk was born and grow up in The R & B Zone. That part of time when live music and live entertainment ruled. When blues,gospel and jazz joined hands and created Rhythm and Blues. His music reflecs that deep emotion and feeling thats missed in todays music. Producing a blend of instruments needed to creat The R & B Zone sound. The rhythm and lead guitar are lost in todays R & B music. The Guitar is the lost ingredient. Just Imagine Rock music with out any guitar, or James Brown with out Guitar or horns. Rhythm and blues was created on the back bone of guitars,horns and organ. R & B is A true made in american music. Kirk is Star Image top Music Producer, he has been writing,arranging and composing for over 30 years for a string of artist. My Musical Mentors are Quincy Jones and James Brown.
