- I am here to get an education on all things pertaining to soul music. I like the neo-soul artist but I want to know more about the old school artist( if that's what there called). I grew up in Chicago listening to radio when radio stations played everyone and weren't sliced into markets, i.e urban, urban contemporary, etc. I came into house music around 14 wishing I could go to the kiddie clubs back in day (Candy store) so I would listen to the radio on those Friday & Saturday nights (DJ'S made you feel like you weren't missing a thing) cause mommie was not having her baby go to NO CLUB! LOL
