- I am singer/songwriter currently in the studio working on my solo project.in addition to that i love takeing pictures of everything, i love art and poetry so i host art shows, poetry nights and music showcases.I am a lover of all kinds of music and i try to fuse it when im creating my own music. although I have been singing all my life ,and music is my first love; one of my goals is to become a [serious] film maker. I started out as a model 15 years ago. I was cast in a music video; someone that worked for the artist overheard me and some of the other girls singing, and i was asked to sing on my first track for a west coast artist visting detroit, and lets just say i was hooked from that point on.three years later I formed a singing group[think lucy pearl] called[salilaqwi] this created the oppertunity for me to really hone my performance and writing skills.from showcases to free concerts,open mics you name it !we done it .Im blessed to say that I have sang on over 30 tracks from jazz to soul,R&B,hip-hop,it dosent matter if they succeded or not; I felt blessed to be apart of the music.I was offered a chance to work with a major,major artist which would have opened up major oppertunities,record deal/touring ECT; but this would mean me leaving my son [who was very young at the time]for a loooong time,and as bad as i wanted a career in music I couldnt do it. I cryed for 2 days and then I picked myself up and took that time to raise my son ,and perfect my musical god given talent, and here i am today I wouldnt change a thing becouse i know that god was, and is in controll and im a much more seasoned, grounded artist because of that.
